Churches and Chapels on the Air 2014

DARC Operated a special event station on 13/9/14 for Churches and Chapels on the air from the Christian centre River Church, using the callsign GB2RCD.
We operated on HF with 2 stations, and also on DSTAR where we spoke to many people, including using Dstar data to send some images which worked really well. Thanks to Peter G0KOK for organising.S

Looking back - Railways on the air - 21st / 22nd Sept 2013

We operated at the East Kent Railway in Shepherdswell.  This was the first
time DARC have visited, and it was a great success. We hope we can go back again in the future.

A few "Spy" Radios displayed by Ian G3ROO, The IC-7100 was in use for 4m FM / SSB, and a 897 was used on the HF Bands. Brian G4SAU operating in the picture above.

Pictured above was our shack for the weekend! You can just about see the Pole and antenna up for 4m. More pictures and information in the next "net" which will be out later in the year.

Thanks to everyone that helped with this event, to Peter G0KOK for organising, Peter G3MLO for help setting up and operating, Ian G3ROO and everyone else that made this event so enjoyable.

Thanks also very much to the staff and volunteers at the Railway for making us so welcome, hope to see you again in 2014.

Looking back - August 2013 - GB2SFL - South Foreland Lighthouse

Pictured above is our new location at the lighthouse for operating.
A newly built shed, great for operating. Hopefully we will be back next year. We operated on HF, and on 4m, with 2 stations setup. Thanks to all those that came along and operated and supported the event
