Our 2 Local 2m Repeaters, GB3KS and GB3FK

GB3KS - The Dover 2m Repeater - 145.625
One of the UK's earliest 2 meter repeaters, it was first licensed in mid 1976 as GB3KR, operating on R4. It is sited near Dover. Its callsign and frequency were changed to allow GB3KN to use R4 in 1980. Currently the repeater consists of a Storno 600 running 25 watts through a duplexer supplied by Wacom USA, by this method the required 90 dB of isolation
between TX and RX frequencies is achieved at the expenses of a power drop of 15 watts atthe base of the feeder. Coverage of south and east Kent is achieved by means of a two element Jaybeam pointing approximately north-west, with an ERP of 8 watts.

It uses GB3US logic. Users should allow the 'K' or 'G' to be sent to reset the logic, if the logic is not allowed to reset the repeater will time out. Following several successive time outs it will change to 'Mode 2' indicated by reversal of tone frequency from 1750 Hz to 850 Hz and vice-versa.

The repeater sends its callsign every 5 minutes, on initial access and closedown, also every 15 minutes in the form of 'GB3KS NR DOVER'.

Please make use of our local repeater, 2m is very quiet these days, so is 70cms.Don't forget during the school holiday when the club does not meet at the school, a net will be held on KS from 19:30 Local time.
